Our family has been in the metal casting business since 1949. We employ the old style “slush” casting method: 1.You hand pour the metal into the mold. 2.You pause for a second or two. 3.You pour the still molten metal back out of the mold into the ladle.
This leaves you with a hollow part which still has all the filigree on the outside.The lighting industry made good use of this technique over the years running wires through our hollow columns, arms, bases and various other lamp parts.
